Succession Planting
Instead of sowing a whole row of lettuce or beans at once, sow a short length every two to three weeks. You get a steady supply over months rather than a glut followed by nothing, and a failed sowing is a minor loss. As one crop finishes, replace it immediately with the next - a spring lettuce bed can become summer beans and then autumn greens.
