Watering Fundamentals
Water deeply and less often rather than a little every day. A deep soak encourages roots to grow down where the soil stays moist, while frequent shallow watering keeps roots near the surface where they dry out fast. Most established gardens want the equivalent of about an inch of water per week from rain or irrigation combined. Water in the morning so leaves dry before night, which reduces disease, and aim at the soil rather than the foliage.
