What Is Hydroponics
Hydroponics is growing plants without soil, with roots supported in an inert medium or in air and fed by a water-based nutrient solution. Because nutrients and oxygen are delivered directly to the roots, plants often grow faster and in less space than in soil. The trade-off is that the system depends on you: there is no soil buffer, so the nutrient mix, pH, and water level need regular checking.
